Biography

I am an Italian lawyer, a Professor in Banking Law, a UK Barrister at Middle Temple Inn and a UK Solicitor, with more than 15 years’ corporate, private practice and in-house experience. I am an expert in cross-border regulatory financial services law, notably in the UK and EU.

My legal career began within the law firm, Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Capelli & Partners, progressing to Senior Associate in the Capital Markets, Financial Services and Regulatory Department. Keen to gain further insights into the world of financial services, I joined State Street Bank in Milan, where I helped leading on corporate governance and regulatory matters.

In 2013, I had the opportunity to relocate to the UK, where it had long been my dream to qualify as a Barrister and Solicitor. I joined ETF Securities (now Wisdom Tree), leading to my promotion in 2015 to European Regulatory Counsel heading up the regulatory efforts across their European, US and Hong Kong offices, tasked with creating and heading the firm’s first regulatory function.

I was approached to join PwC Legal in London in 2018 to head up their newly established AwM legal regulatory department in UK.

In 2020, I joined US law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and drove their strategic expansion through a new European hub for Financial Services, Regulatory and FinTech based in Milan.

In 2024 I joined the Fintech company TerraPay as Executive VP and Head of their governmental affairs and regulatory department and Italian CEO.

I am a full professor (Professore straordinario) at University San Raffaele in Rome (Banking law & Fintech regulatory law) and Hon. Visiting Professor at Bayes Business School (London).

I served as Italian Hon Consul in Liverpool (UK) until July 2020.

I am currently studying an MBA programme at City University of London.
